The Sound of Music at The Medium

Arts One Presents is bringing one of the most beloved musicals of all time to life with The Sound of Music, running from March 6-8, 2025, at The Medium in Springdale. This timeless story follows Maria, a young postulant-turned-governess, as she brings love, joy, and music into the lives of a widowed naval captain and his seven children. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Austrian Alps, The Sound of Music celebrates the power of family, music, and finding joy in life’s challenges. production takes a semi-staged approach, spotlighting the stunning, award-winning score by Rodgers and Hammerstein. Under the direction of Music Director Cheri Headrick, the show will feature a 25-piece live orchestra, offering an immersive musical experience that will captivate audiences from the first note to the last.

AOP’s The Sound of Music includes a 30-person cast from the talented NWA community. From iconic songs like "Do-Re-Mi" and "My Favorite Things" to the soaring finale of "Climb Every Mountain," this production will transport audiences to a world of love, joy, and resilience.
