From the beloved and award-winning children's book by Kevin Henkes, Trike Theatre presents Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse for a six-show engagement at Walton Arts Center April 13-14 and 20-21.

Tickets start at $9 for children and $15 for adults plus applicable fees and can be purchased in-person at the Walton Arts Center Box Office, by calling 479.443.5600 or by visiting waltonartscenter.org.

Lilly loves almost everything. She loves school, she loves wearing disguises, she loves her awesome teacher, but not her stinky baby brother Julius. Lilly has her own way of doing things and even on the bad days, when you have movie star sunglasses and a purple plastic purse that plays music, how bad can it be? The production brings to life Lilly's hilarious and heart-felt journey where even young mice make mistakes and have to find the courage to apologize.

Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse is a main stage production by Trike Theatre. The cast includes 16 young actors from Northwest Arkansas filling eight principle roles and six professional adult actors.

Show Times:

Friday, April 13 at 7 pm

Saturday, April 14 at 10 am and 2 pm

Friday, April 20 at 6:30 pm

Saturday, April 21 at 10 am and 2 pm

The 10 am show on April 14 is a relaxed performance. Select performances in Walton Arts Center's season have been adapted to incorporate special modifications to serve adults and children with sensory-input disorders, autism or other developmental or cognitive disability, as well as anyone who might feel uncomfortable attending a typical live theater performance.

"Some segments of our community have fewer opportunities to comfortably experience theater as a family," said Laura Goodwin, vice president of learning and engagement for Walton Arts Center. "Traditional theater settings and typical audience expectations deter many from participating. Relaxed performances provide accommodations that offer more people the occasion to be part of the community of live theater."

All patrons are welcome at these special performances, however in order to make the shows more accessible to people with sensory-processing disorders, adjustments have been made by the artistic team. Sound levels in the production will be lowered, particularly for loud or startling sounds, and lights in the seating area will be dimmed rather than fully dark during the performance. You can learn more about these performances here.
