A new family has moved into Mountain Home. They are creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky, The Addams Family, in a musical comedy, The Addams Family Musical, by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, opens at 7 tonight at the newly renovated Twin Lakes Playhouse.

Join the madcap fun as America's ghoulish family tries to adopt a normal life when one of their own, Wednesday Addams, the ultimate Princess of Darkness, falls in love with an all-American boy from Ohio, Lucas Beineke. When she invites him and his family to dinner at the macabre home of Gomez and Morticia, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and The Addams Family must face up to the one horrible thing they've managed to avoid for generations: change. Side splitting laughs and bizarre humor abounds as secrets are disclosed, relationships tested, and The Addams Family is forced to realize their little girl has grown up.

Based on the works of The New Yorker cartoonist, Charles Addams, The Addams Family became a popular family television show, running from 1964-1966 with 64 episodes of unique satire. Continuation of the antics of this wacky family returned to television in the 1977 film Halloween Reunion, an animated film in 1992, syndication of the TV show during 1991-1992, a motion picture starring Raul Julia and Anjelica Houston in 1991 and movie sequel in 1993. An Addams Family Reunion, aired in 1998 on television and was followed by The from 1998-2000.

In 2010 The Addams Family musical debuted on Broadway starring Nathan Lane as Gomez Addams and Bebe Neuwirth in the role of Morticia.
