Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Comes to Las Vegas, Beginning Today

Boyd Gaming founder Sam Boyd had a hand in bringing the National Finals Rodeo to Las Vegas back in 1985. Since then, Boyd Gaming has served as an integral sponsor and partner of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) and will once again offer attendees a schedule packed with post-rodeo events, concerts and parties at Boyd Gaming properties throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

National Finals Tonight Show at the Gold Coast
Head to "Where all the Cowboys go after the Rodeo" at the award-winning National Finals Tonight Show, held at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino nightly at 10:30 p.m. Admission is free and fans will be treated to special highlights and interviews with some of the most recognizable names in the world of professional rodeo. The wrap-up of each day's WNFR performances will be hosted by eight-time World Champion and Hall of Fame Cowboy Don Gay, with eight-time World Champion Tie-Down Roper and All-Around Cowboy Joe Beaver as well as TV Host Dan Miller. There will be special appearances by legendary WNFR rodeo announcers Bob Tallman and Boyd Polhamus and many others.

Gary Leffew's Legendary Buck'N Ball at the Gold Coast
Live country music, two-step dancing and drink specials highlight the "Buck'N Ball," Las Vegas' best rodeo party after dark. The Buck'N Ball will be held December 5-13, starting at 9 p.m. each evening, in the Arizona Ballroom at the Gold Coast. Join us for free line dancing lessons nightly, all guests must be 21.

Bob Tallman Celebrity Bowling Tournament at the Gold Coast
Bowling, celebrities, food and fun will once again be signatures of the 2014 Bob Tallman Celebrity Bowling Tournament on December 6, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Gold Coast Bowling Center. The tournament will benefit the Las Vegas chapter of Speedway Children's Charities and the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund. Festivities will include a silent auction, celebrity bowling team members and an awards ceremony.

American actress, fashion model, lifestyle blogger and heiress to the Hearst publishing fortune, Lydia Hearst, will participate in the tournament. At the 2008 Michael Awards, Lydia was recognized as "Supermodel of the Year." Also a budding actress, Hearst can be seen in supporting roles in "Gossip Girl" (2009), "Two Jacks" (2011), "Mistresses" (2013), "Cabin Fever: Patient Zero" (2014), "Desire" (2014), "Automobile Waltz" (2014), "#Horror" (2015), and "Condemned" (2015).

Roxy's Buckin' Bull Honky Tonk at Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall
Bring out your inner cowboy and cowgirl at the 4th Annual Buckin' Bull Mechanical Bull Riding competition at Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall, December 5-13. Professional Rodeo and Sports Announcer, Jody Carper will lend his voice during the action. Just bring along your courage and bull ridin' skills, as entrants will not have to pay an entry fee to participate. There will be two riding sessions nightly between 5 p.m. and midnight, with the top 5 scorers being paid out in cash, prizes and a championship buckle in each session.

Shepler's Western Wear and Cowboy Santa at Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall - During the entire run of WNFR, special sales on your favorite Western clothes, gifts, boots and hats will be available at Shepler's Western Wear store, located on the second floor of Sam's Town.

While visiting Sam's Town during NFR, check out the popular pioneer-themed Mystic Falls Park Light and Water Show. The park will be transformed into an immersive winter wonderland experience, beginning in Sam's Town's porte-cochère with festive lighting and decorative snowflakes leading to Mystic Falls Park. Garland streams, wreath-adorned lampposts, and white light and snow-covered trees will fill the atrium, while Cowboy Santa takes up residence in the Park's gazebo.

Food and Beverage Specials:

Fremont Hotel and Casino / Main Street Station Casino, Brewery and Hotel

  • Triple 7 at Main Street Station and Tony Roma's at Fremont will both feature the Cowboy Rib Eye Steak -- a 16 oz. rib eye steak, served with baked potato and seared green beans, and a draft beer. $24.

Suncoast Hotel and Casino

  • The Café will offer a T-bone Special served with a beer. $9.99.
  • All casino bars will feature $2 Miller Light and Miller Genuine Draft, along with $4 Jim Beam Fire, Jack Daniels and Jack Daniels Honey shots during the festivities.

The Orleans Hotel and Casino

  • Prime Rib Loft will feature an 8 oz. Flatiron Steak topped with sautéed onions, mushrooms and drizzled with Bourbon BBQ sauce. Served with fried shrimp, a jumbo baked potato and seasonal vegetables. Served with a choice of soup or salad for the starter and apple pie for dessert. $24.

Coasta Cantina will feature two specials; each priced at $19 and served with choice of Fideo or Tortilla soup.

  • Carne Asada Sonora: Skirt steak marinated in Guajillo chilis and fresh herbs then broiled and topped with grilled onions and mushrooms. Served with charro beans and sautéed red skin potatoes.
  • Rib Eye El Patron: 12 oz. Rib Eye steak marinated in tequila and Mexican herbs and spices then cooked to perfection topped with blend of sautéed onions, tomatoes, cilantro and peppers. Served with Mexicano rice and your choice of charro or refried beans.

Courtyard Café will offer three WNFR specials during regular hours, each served with draft beer and a choice of soup or salad.

  • Steak and Shrimp: Broiled 7 oz. New York steak and five breaded shrimp served with baked potato and seasonal vegetables. $10.99.
  • Chicken Fried Steak smothered in country gravy, served with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. $9.99.
  • Southern-Style Breaded Pork Chops: Center-cut pork chops soaked in buttermilk and garlic, breaded in southern spices and grilled to a golden brown. Served with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. $9.99.
