The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, the social media craze that has been raising awareness - and millions of dollars - for ALS research, has been making its way through shows up and down the Las Vegas Strip. EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL was recently challenge by the cast of the Australian Bee Gees Show to take the challenge, and they did so - not once, but three times. Each time they nominated a different group or person.
The big difference between EVIL DEAD's Ice Bucket Challenge and others is they decided to go with a liquid they know a lot about...blood. Each person participating had a 5 gallon bucket filled with icy blood poured over their heads.
The stars of the show as well as Director/Producer Sirc Michaels all participated, nominating a variety of celebrities including Bruce Campbell.
"We wanted to do something unique with the challenge," said Sirc Michaels, the producer and director of EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL. "If there is one thing we know about, it is dumping gallons of liquid over people. In this instance, those people were ourselves!"
Members of the public are encouraged to donate to ALS research as well as shoot their own video of the challenge and post it to the show's FaceBook Page. More information about the challenge and ALS can be found here: http://www.alsa.org/fight-als/ice-bucket-challenge.html.
