Stage Door Entertainment, in conjunction with Super Summer Theatre, is pleased to announce the last in a series of 6 free dance workshops leading up to the March auditions for West Side Story, to be performed at Super Summer Theatre in 2009.
West Side Story, the world's greatest love story, takes to the streets in this landmark Broadway musical that is one of the theatre's finest accomplishments. Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" is transported to 1950's New York City, as two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the American Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.
FREE DANCE WORKSHOP WILL BE HELD:
Saturday, February 21
These workshops, led by the show's Choreographer, Evan Litt, are intended to help broaden the familiarity of local talent with the style and skill level of the choreography of the production, as well as allow actors to self-assess their performance and the need for any additional dance training.
All workshops are 100% free and open to the public. No registration is required. Attendance is only limited by the space limitations of the studio.
