Shakira has toured the United States only twice in her career, once in 2002 for the "Tour of the Mongoose" and the second time in 2006 for her "Oral Fixation" tour, which grossed more than $100 million. In keeping with her inspired originality as well as her sensual rhythms and unpredictable spirit, the 2010 tour promises to push the limits, bringing fans a pulsating spectacle crossing all musical boundaries.
Shakira plans to perform songs from her collection of smash hits and newest album, She Wolf, released by Epic Records in the U.S. last November. The critically acclaimed album continues to grow in popularity with the recent release of the album's third single, "Gypsy." This hit was preceded by top singles "She Wolf" and "Give It Up To Me" featuring Lil' Wayne. Shakira made Billboard chart history this year with her 17th Top Five hit on the Latin Pop chart with "Gitana." This gave her the most Top Five titles by a female artist in the chart's 16-year history.
She Wolf is the follow-up to the 2005 platinum-certified Oral Fixation Vol. 2 which spawned the hit single "Hips Don't Lie." The single reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 in 55 countries worldwide. It also became the most-played song in the history of U.S. pop radio.
In addition to her summer tour, Shakira will take the stage at some of this year's hottest summer festivals including London's legendary Glastonbury Festival and Rock In Rio in Lisbon and Madrid. The popular musician's song "Waka Waka" (This Time For Africa) also has been selected as the official anthem of the 2010 World Cup.
Shakira is an advocate for universal education and is the founder and President of the Barefoot Foundation (Pies Descalzos), a founding member of the ALAS Foundation and an ambassador for 1GOAL and UNICEF. For complete tour and ticket information, visit
