Broadway in the H.O.O.D is thrilled to announce Tony Award-winner, Savion Glover's return to The Smith Center for their first annual benefit concert, From Broadway With Love: Honoring The Shoulders We Stand On! This awesome evening of entertainment will feature some of the brightest entertainers from across the world that will come together and pay tribute to the greats who paved the way.

Savion Glover, known as "the world's greatest tap dancer," has wowed audiences around the world with his masterful dancing and choreography over the past four decades! He began his Broadway career at the age of 12 performing The Tap Dance Kid and continued with Black and Blue (Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical), and opposite Gregory Hines in George C. Wolfe's Jelly's Last Jam, Bring in 'da Noise and Bring in 'da Funk, which garnered him a Tony Award for Best Choreography. He has choreographed the HBO film The Rat Pack; the ABC special Savion Glover's Nu York; and Savion Glover's Stomp, Slide, and Swing: In Performance at the White House for PBS. He appeared for five years on Sesame Street as well as in Showtime films The Wall and Bojangles; the movie Tap with Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis Jr.; Spike Lee's Bamboozled; and choreographed and performed the energetic tapping feet for Mumble, the tap-dancing penguin hero, in the acclaimed Academy Award-winning, Warner Brothers produced film Happy Feet (2006) and Happy Feet 2 (2011). Glover has most recently been celebrated for his award-winning choreography in the notable Broadway musical, Shuffle Along, or, the Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed.

Glover idolizes the early heroes of tap, and is quick to credit those entertainers before him who laid the legacy beneath his feet. With that, Glover is truly excited to join this celebratory event From Broadway With Love: Honoring The Shoulders We Stand On with local non-profit Broadway in the H.O.O.D! Featuring 16 of Broadway's biggest and best musicals including; The Wiz, Jelly's Last Jam, The Lion King, A Chorus Line, CATS, Hamilton, Matilda, The Color Purple and many more! Welcoming a star-studded cast of actors, singers, dancers and musicians, weaving together a beautiful tapestry dedicated to Lena Horne, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Pearl Bailey, Louis Armstrong, Redd Foxx and many others who stood the test of time, fought, marched, and kicked doors open in Las Vegas and throughout the world. This highly anticipated event marks the inaugural benefit fundraising concert for Broadway in the H.O.O.D and will become an annual event, celebrating and honoring the contributions of those past and present entertainers who have paved the way for all entertainers. This inaugural event will also hold a special tribute to Broadway veteran and Las Vegas headliner, Mr. Sammy Davis Jr.!
