Recycled Percussion visited The Shade Tree Shelter today to make a donation, tour the facility and meet the women and children who utilize the shelter's services. They presented The Shade Tree's Executive Director, Marlene Richter, with a check for $3,100 to aid in the shelter's ongoing commitment to assist homeless women, children and their pets who are escaping abusive situations. The shelter seeks to help these families recover their stability and self-reliance.
Recycled Percussion's leader, Justin Spencer, reflected on why the group chose to donate to The Shade Tree: "We get to play on the Las Vegas Strip every night for our fans and we get to live our dream but every time you drive home, you see people who are just looking for a place to stay, some shelter, and it really hits home because we're all human. We all have our dreams and aspirations and things that we want to do and we are extremely fortunate that we are able to make a living playing music. There are people out there who would also like to live their dreams some day and they just need a little help and guidance. Any gift that people can give, whether it be monetary or donating time, will help that process."
