In March, Erich Bergen and Jeff Leibow of JERSEY BOYS Las Vegas donated their time to the CineVegas Clubhouse Project by teaching an acting workshop to a group of kids from The Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas. The workshop was part of a community outreach program in which local industry professionals taught the art of filmmaking to members of the Boys & Girls Club of Las Vegas.
Over a five-week period, these kids had the opportunity to create, write and star in their own short film, which had a red carpet premiere at the 2009 CineVegas Film Festival Sunday, June 14 with Festival Chairman, Dennis Hopper. Bergen and Leibow attended the red carpet premiere as well to see the finished product of this important project.
The musical phenomenon JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, celebrated its year anniversary at The Palazzo Las Vegas on May 3, 2009 and has been named the number one show on The Strip by the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Las Vegas Weekly.A unique presentation of live music and drama, JERSEY BOYS is the story of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty. The show features such hits as "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You," "Oh, What a Night" and many more. JERSEY BOYS performs at The Palazzo Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 7 p.m.; Tuesday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and dark on Wednesday.
