One part vivid imagination, two parts carnival and a shot of old world burlesque mixed with a Heavy Dash of decadence and you have ABSINTHE, a unique show that premieres Strip-side on Friday, April 1. This new production by internationally renowned Spiegelworld, Base Entertainment and Jess Ravich makes its vibrant debut at the Roman Plaza at Caesars Palace.
An imaginative show in a unique venue, ABSINTHE is the crown jewel of the Spiegelworld experience, an adult carnival that will transform the Roman Plaza in front of Caesars Palace into an entertainment playground. As the sun sets and the vibrant energy of The Strip sets in, Spiegelworld provides a retreat from reality. It allows party-goers to trip through a captivating maze of tents and early 20th Century European décor housing an adultcarnival, complete with a secret speakeasy, raucous beer garden and mischievous drinking games including "Flip Stein" and "Dom Pong." As nightfall approaches, this enchanting world opens to an intimate setting for all ABSINTHE performances, which take place in the masterful centerpiece Spiegeltent, a heritage wooden show tent from Europe opulently decorated with mirrors, staiNed Glass and velvet. Audience members are immersed in an intimate emporium where all of the wild and outlandish acts of ABSINTHE unfold in a theatre-in-the-round presentation.
ABSINTHE is a surreal experience for all adults. Audiences are treated to a night of imagination and excess with performances that amaze and inspire. The cast of eccentrics evoke thrills and chills as they perform amazing feats of virtuosity within mere feet of the audience surrounding the intimate stage. ABSINTHE takes audience members back to a place where the raw energy, talent and sensuality of performers from around the world tempt every sense imaginable.
"We are excited to bring such a new, innovative concept like Spiegelworld to The Strip and are anxiously anticipating the premiere of ABSINTHE at Caesars Palace Las Vegas," says Co-CEO of Base Entertainment, Scott Zeiger. "This fascinating adult carnival will be an experience unlike any Vegas has seen before, in a dazzling, one-of-a-kind setting. ABSINTHE is sure to be the talk of the town."
"After taking New York City and Miami by storm, I am thrilled to bring ABSINTHE to Las Vegas," said Ross Mollison, Spiegelworld Impresario. "The people of Las Vegas will be treated to the most intoxicating blend of circus, burlesque and vaudeville they can imagine."
The ringleader of ABSINTHE and its carnival of crazy characters, is the one and only, Gazillionaire who leads the intimate audience of 600 people down a decadence-laced and fun-fueled evening of extraordinary performances.
"I invite everyone to come and experience what is no doubt the best show in the world," says The Gazillionaire. "I have searched the world high and low and spared no expense to bring the most brilliant artistic displays, the most beautiful of men and women and the most fabulous cast of characters to Las Vegas."
The Gazillionaire is bringing a group of his most outrageous friends, family and even servants to ABSINTHE, to entertain and mesmerize crowds in this 90 minute performance. Those who have decided to embark on this dazzling adventure include his loyal assistant Penny, "The Green Fairy," his butler Max, "The Weather Girl," "Duo Ssens," "The Skating Aratas" and "The Esteemed Gentlemen of the High Wire."
Critics and fans alike find ABSINTHE a unique one-of-a-kind experience. The New York Times hails ABSINTHE is "Cirque du Soleil channeled through the ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show'" and continues by saying audience members are "close enough to see the sweat and grimaces needed to produce graceful, gravity defying stunts." Celebrity fans include Gerard Butler, Daniel Radcliffe and Dylan McDermott to name a few.
"Caesars Entertainment has long been committed to bringing first class entertainment to Las Vegas," says Bonnie Gilmour, Vice President of Marketing for Caesars Entertainment in Las Vegas. "We believe Spiegelworld and ABSINTHE will make a unique and exciting addition to the array of entertainment options we provide for our guests."
ABSINTHE performs Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m., with no show on Monday. The schedule is subject to change without notice.
