Nevada's young ladies vie for the 2013 Miss Nevada Junior High, High School and Collegiate America crowns and scholarships, August 5 at the Suncoast Showroom. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the pageant starting at 6 p.m.
Contestants will compete in the divisions of evening gown, fun fashion modeling and interview. Each division will be judged by a prestigious panel, though panelists' identities will not be disclosed until the evening of the event. Voting for the People's Choice award will be available starting, July 1 on the pageant website www.missnevadahighschool.com.
Contestants are some of the brightest, most community-oriented and talented individuals from high schools and colleges across Nevada. The newly crowned queens will receive a prize package valued at more than $8,000, as well as a chance to win a $10,000 educational scholarship. Each will also receive the official crown of the Miss High School America Pageant, presented by the reigning queens: Kamryn Deike, Miss Nevada Junior High 2012; Briana Lowe, Miss Nevada High School 2012; and Cory Bradley, Miss Nevada Collegiate 2012.
Winners will go on to compete for the national title of Miss Junior High School America, Miss High School America and Miss Collegiate America, scheduled for July 2013 in Orlando, Florida.
Project Teddy (founded by Mrs. Nevada-America 2010, Dr. Susie Monahan) is the pageant's charity and will benefit from the event. Project Teddy provides teddy bears from Build-A-Bear Workshops to cancer-stricken children at hospitals and treatment centers throughout Nevada.
