#MeToo Football Drama TIGHT END Debuts At Majestic Rep Image

Majestic Repertory Theatre continues their third season in the Las Vegas Arts District with the regional premiere of Chicago playwright Rachel Bykowski's football drama TIGHT END.

Ash (believe me, you do not want to call her "Ashley") Miller's dream is to catch the winning touchdown pass for the Westmont High Titans' Homecoming game. Football is in her blood. In order to make the team, Ash will have to prove she is one of the guys even if that means sacrificing her body for the love of the game.

According to Bykowski: "I suddenly had this image in my head of a woman constantly in motion. She never stops moving. Ash is always pushing her body to its limits as her sweat floods the floor. If we women stop to rest for even a second, we don't get the job, we don't get the promotion, and we lose our spot in line to our male counterparts who, at times, did not work as hard as us and got by on the mediocrity."

"As soon as I read the script I didn't give a second thought to putting it in our season," says Artistic Director Troy Heard. "It fits right in the intersection of our mission of presenting topical works and of giving opportunities to young artists. Although Rachel completed her first draft before the #MeToo movement, it's a definite response to the pressures teen girls face in their journeys to pursue their goals.

TIGHT END continues Majestic Rep's third season, which will be followed by OUR TOWN and THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE.

Performances of TIGHT END will be February 28 through March 24, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. Majestic Repertory Theatre is located at at 1217 S. Main Street. General admission tickets are $25 and high school students are $15, and are on sale now at www.majesticrepertory.com. Call 702-423-6366 for details.
