The Las Vegas Philharmonic announces its latest community enrichment and music education initiative, Music Van, which will drive the organization's ability to deliver music and its benefits to more of Las Vegas through mobile activations and experiences.
The Philharmonic's Music Van will serve three broad functions: educational outreach, senior community support, and community engagement. As a mobile education and outreach program, Music Van will engage the diverse community within Las Vegas with customizable programs including:
Beginning in late 2018, Music Van will implement these types of programs in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Henderson. As the program develops over a 3-year period, the Music Van will be able to serve more communities through Southern Nevada, including Boulder City, Mesquite, Moapa, Laughlin, and more.
Music Van will deliver programs that are customizable depending on the needs of the group engaged in the activity. Some accommodations include sensory-friendly programs for special needs individuals, bilingual programming in Spanish and English, as well as adaptive technology.
"Music can build bridges, engage friends and neighbors, and simply bring people together. Music Van aims to be a catalyst for fostering community togetherness and music education by allowing us to bring the Philharmonic to the places Las Vegans live, study, work and play," says Las Vegas Philharmonic's Director of Education, Dr. Kevin Eberle.
The Las Vegas Philharmonic is committed to bringing music to people where they are, engaging with our community in new and different ways. Music Van will be the platform to reach this goal and constantly reinvent what it means to create and experience music in Southern Nevada.
Donations are being sought to fund this important initiative. To donate or learn more, visit http://www.lvphil.org/education/music-van/ or call 702-258-5438.
