Las Vegas Comedy Institute To Offer More Standup & Improv Workshops

Whether you're a working comedian or just hoping to use humor to punch up your presentations, build your confidence or public speaking ability, Don Barnhart is one of the most sought out comedy coaches in the industry because he actually does it for a living.

Barnhart is one of the stars of the new documentary I Am Battle Comic and his new book Finding Your Funny is a best seller on Amazon. In it, he explores the art, science and business of comedy with interviews and practical advice from other comedians, agents, managers and club owners.

Standup Workshop cost is $350 new students, returning students $200

In addition to the standup workshops, Barnhart also offers an ongoing performance based improv workshop. Increase your confidence and stage presence with improvisation. This class is great for comedians, actors, writers, business people, sales teams and anyone wanting to learn improv or increase their stage performance and speaking ability.

Although Barnhart's workshops are based in comedy are heavily influenced by the work and teachings of Viola Spolin, this ongoing program covers all elements of the improvisational process including improv, games, sketch writing, and comedic acting.

Barnhart's improv classes and seminars specialize in short form improv and games for the stage. This fun, interactive class will have you on your feet, onstage and creating laughter right away.

"There are many different and wonderful improv groups and classes in Vegas and I suggest you learn from them all", said Barnhart.

The students begin with ensemble, environment, and object work with the goal to create rehearse and performing their own fully improvised show on week 6. Barnhart is currently grooming advanced students to be a part his upcoming comedy sketch show.

The techniques one learns in Improvisation can help you to break through your roadblocks and stage fright. You'll have a blast in this interactive workshop as you create and work with characters, voices & space work.

Improv workshops are $90 for all 5 classes and showcase. (Must attend a minimum of 4 classes to be included in the showcase) but drop in students can participate for $15 per class. Open to all levels.
