The Las Vegas Academy of the Arts presents the Tony-award winning Broadway musical "In the Heights" in February and March at the Lowden Theatre (Clark Ave and 9th St). This contemporary Latin-themed musical features exhilarating dancing, Grammy-award winning songs and the humor and sweetness of dual love stories in a struggling community. Set in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City, "In the Heights" is about a Dominican-American neighborhood on the brink of change. Performance dates are tonight, Feb. 20-22, Feb. 27-March 1 and March 6-7 at 7:00 p.m. and a 2 p.m. performance on Saturday, March 1, 2014.
The Las Vegas Academy of the Arts is a public, magnet high school dedicated to the performing and visual arts. The school has produced many successful alumni, including Julianne Hough (Dancing with the Stars), Rutina Wesley (True Blood) and Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds).
