Golden Rainbow reveals its lineup for the 27th annual "Ribbon of Life" production including performances by world-renowned, two-time Grammy winning singer Jon Secada and NBC's "America's Got Talent" star Michael Grimm. The fundraiser will take place at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts at 1p.m. today, June 30.
Secada is a singer and songwriter with two GRAMMY Awards, 20 million albums sold and starring roles on Broadway. Adored by millions around the world, Secada has been recognized as an international superstar by both fans and peers for his soulful and melodic voice. He is currently celebrating 20 years of hits with the release of his new single, "I'm Never Too Far Away." Beyond music, Secada devotes himself to assisting various charitable groups all over the world through his personal organization, "Jon Secada Charities." Among them, Secada has been active with AIDS research groups.
This year's extravaganza, "Tributes," will feature a wide spectrum of tribute-themed performances from contemporary to classic, Broadway to film, pop to hip-hop, comedy and more. Aside from Secada and Grimm, the exciting lineup will include performers Clint Holmes, Josh Strickland, George Wallace, Frankie Moreno and Reva Rice; vocal groups Mo5aic, The Las Vegas Tenors, The Phat Pack and Celebrity City Chorus; members from Human Nature, Jubilee! and VEGAS! the Show; and many more. Additional performances to be announced closer to the fundraiser.
In 2012, "Ribbon of Life" drew a record-setting crowd of 1,630. The performance raised more than $200,000, topping the previous year by $40,000, for the HIV/AIDS nonprofit. Memorable numbers included "Rhythm Of Life" by Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular, "Circle of Life" by children's group Broadway in the Hood, "Rock of Ages," by the famous Las Vegas Tenors, "Suite From Porgy and Bess" by Clint Holmes and more.
"Ribbon of Life" is one of the largest HIV/AIDS fundraisers in the state of Nevada and the Golden Rainbow's main source of revenue. The fundraising spectacular is unlike any other production in the city and features some of the best performers from premier shows on the Las Vegas Strip. Showcasing new numbers and talent, each year's audience is always surprised, thrilled and inspired by the performances that are exclusive to the event.
