Johnny Guitar to Ride into Las Vegas, Sept. 13

The 2007 Super Summer Theatre begins performances of Johnny Guitar on Thursday, September 13.  "It tells the tale of Vienna, a sultry saloonkeeper, and her rival Emma, the town's tycoon.  When Johnny Guitar, the handsome stranger with a secret past, rides into town and faces off with Vienna's lover the stage is set for a hilarious showdown," state press notes.  Johnny Guitar is produced by Stage Door Entertainment and is their second production at Super Summer Theatre this season.

Johnny Guitar, the stage musical, debuted Off-Broadway in 2004, with book by Nicholas van Hoogstraten, lyrics by Joel Higgins, and music by Martin Silvestri and Joel Higgins.

Johnny Guitar is the final musical to light up Spring Mountain Ranch this summer season.   Nestled at the base of the Spring Mountains, Spring Mountain Ranch State Park and Super Summer Theatre invite theatergoers to sit back, relax and enjoy the show.  Spring Mountain Ranch is located 10 miles west of 215 on Charleston Boulevard.

Opening night is Thursday, September 13th with performances scheduled every Thursday – Saturday through September 22.  Gates open at 6 pm, and the show starts at 7 pm.   Throw down a blanket or bring/rent a chair, have a picnic dinner or indulge in something from the concession stand and enjoy the outdoors before settling in under the stars for the final musical performance of Super Summer Theatre.
