In the spirit of their motto of "Take Time to Be Kind", both Hard Rock Cafe locations in Las Vegas are starting a year-long program called "Rock the Cause."  The cafes will choose a specific cause each month and activate by doing volunteer work, raising funds or collecting items for different charitable organizations throughout Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.

"Last year's '40 Charitable Acts In 40 Days' project was an unbelievably rewarding experience for all of us at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Cafe locations," said Senior Sales and Marketing Manager Erin Ward.  "This year we wanted to expand on that past a 40 day window and extend the program to last an entire year.  There are many people in our city that need help so the philosophy was to make it last all year long.  We hope to inspire the people and businesses of Las Vegas to join us again in our mission."

Each month's activities will surround one particular charitable initiative.  Activities will take place at both Hard Rock Cafe locations in Las Vegas as well as in the community over the course of the entire month.  The activities will not be limited to one particular charity each month but will, in many cases, do their best to achieve help and change over a variety of initiative related charities.

February – Heart Health Month

·         Activities will help draw attention to many heart and health related issues including blood drives, diet and alternative menu choices and weight loss initiatives.

March – Anti Bullying Month

·         Hard Rock Cafe will join forces with The Josh Stevens Foundation as well as the Boys and Girls Club for a variety of events to draw attention to this growing social problem including the first ever Kidapalooza.

April – Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month

·         In addition to Hard Rock Cafe staff  volunteering at local animal shelters, different activities will draw attention to helping increase pet adoption rates throughout Las Vegas.

May – Women Against Domestic Violence Month

·         Hard Rock Cafe will work directly with local battered women's shelters in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada with the focus going towards helping women in need.

June – Focus on Childhood Cancer Month

·         Last year's Coloring for Chemo Drive was just the beginning of what will be a month-long initiative to help the growing number of children in Southern Nevada who are suffering from a variety of cancer related illnesses.

 July – Military Month

·         The Hard Rock Cafe will take the anniversary month of our country's independence to focus on helping families of our military stationed all over the world.  Many of them struggle to make ends meet and long for communication with their loved ones in military service.

August – Support Your Local School Month

·         This month will focus on helping both Las Vegas schools and students.  Many schools lack the proper funding and many young students don't have the proper tools or nourishment to get through the day.  Hard Rock Cafe employees will focus on both areas of need.

September – AIDS Awareness Month

·         Activities will include helping to raise awareness for AIDS.  Hard Rock Cafe will take up an active participation in events and causes to coincide with Las Vegas PRIDE events as well as different activities to raise money for this cause.

October – Pinktober – Breast Cancer Awareness Month

·         Once again Hard Rock Cafe will lead the way with activities and concerts to help draw attention to breast cancer awareness.  This will be the thirteenth year that Hard Rock Cafe will take on this initiative.

November – WHY Imagine Campaign – World Hunger Month

·         Hard Rock Cafes will help spread awareness and bring the message of worldwide hunger yet again.  Included in this month are activities to raise money for this epidemic that affects millions.

December – Focus on Kids Month

·         A month long program that focuses on bringing joy to the children of Southern Nevada during the holiday season, a time of the year when more and more families struggle.
