Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas is uniting fans, musicians and survivors in honor of the brand's 15th annual PINKTOBER campaign! On Wednesday, October 1, 2014, now proclaimed as the official Hard Rock Pinktober Day by the city of Las Vegas, the Strip location will kick off the month long initiative by turning the building pink and hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring PLAYBOY's 2011 Playmate of the Year and star of PIN UP at Stratosphere, Claire Sinclair. The event will benefit American Cancer Society, an organization that invests in breast cancer research to find, prevent, treat and cure the disease as well as providing free information and services to people fighting the disease and helping women get potentially lifesaving breast cancer screening tests.
Hard Rock's 15th Annual PINKTOBER program continues throughout September and October with breast cancer awareness walks, pink fashion shows, high-energy concerts, PINK menu offerings, "PINK Sheets Rooms" and more. Guests are invited to join the fight against breast cancer at Hard Rock Cafes, Hotels and Casinos worldwide by raising awareness and funds for a cause that affects millions. Proceeds from the campaign will support research and awareness-driving efforts for various breast cancer charities around the world.
Rock the Cause
Throughout the month of October a number of the acts performing at the strip location's iconic Hard Rock Live will decorate commemorative pink guitars to create one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork. Each unique guitar will be auctioned off to fans live during the band's scheduled performance. All money raised from each auction will go directly to the American cancer Society. Participating bands include: Living Colour, Jacob Whitesides, New Found Glory, Kyle Gass, Gwar and more.
Shop to Show Your Support
Hard Rock's PINKTOBER campaign allows fans to dress up and give back to the cause with the 2014 PINKTOBER merchandise line, including a women's and men's T-shirt ($26 each) and a collector's edition PINKTOBER pin ($12). The women's PINKTOBER V-neck T-shirt is blue to symbolize strength in mind and body and features a pink breast cancer awareness ribbon embellished with roses. The men's PINKTOBER T-shirt is navy blue and features a pink breast cancer awareness ribbon wrapped around two guitars to symbolize support and strength. Hard Rock's collectable PINKTOBER pin features a pink butterfly shaped guitar, which symbolizes rebirth, evolution and beauty.
Hard Rock's PINKTOBER women's T-shirt is available at Hard Rock properties worldwide, including Cafes, Hotels and Casinos and the men's T-shirt is available at Hard Rock Hotels. All PINKTOBER products, including the women's and men's T-shirt, are sold exclusively online at www.hardrock.com. Proceeds from the sale of PINKTOBER merchandise benefits various breast cancer charities with 15 percent of the retail price going directly to research and awareness-driving efforts around the world.
Flight for the Cure
Hard Rock is also "raising the bar" for the cause with special limited-time beverage offerings, including "Flight for the Cure," a flight of Hard Rock's pink margaritas - Watermelon, Pomegranate and Wildberry - served with pink tortilla chips and house-made salsa. Other featured PINKTOBER drinks include Hard Rock's new Red Berry Press, a sweet fruit cocktail served in a coffee-press style vessel that infuses fruit into the cocktail throughout the drinking process and a fresh, non-alcoholic Wildberry Smoothie.
Get Into Bed for the Cause
Hard Rock Hotel locations are inviting guests to "get into bed for the cause" as part of Hard Rock Hotel's Pink Sheets Rooms. Hard Rock Hotels in the United States and Latin America are supporting this year's PINKTOBER campaign by offering special rooms dressed with Hard Rock's pink sheets. Guests can support breast cancer awareness and enjoy pink sheets, pink robes, commemorative pins and more with a portion of the room rate benefitting various breast cancer charities.

About Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Las Vegas - This inspirational walk promises to unite more than 15,000 community members to honor breast cancer survivors, educate people about steps they can take to reduce their risk or find breast cancer early and raise funds to help end this disease. In 2014 alone, 4,523 women in Nevada are expected to be newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Last year over 13,000 Las Vegas locals gathered in the fight and raised over $400,000. Today, one in every two women newly diagnosed with breast cancer reaches out to the American Cancer Society for help and support. While the American Cancer Society has been able to help save many lives from cancer, there is much more work that needs to be done.
About the American Cancer Society - The American Cancer Society is a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers saving lives and fighting for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. As the largest voluntary health organization, the Society's efforts have contributed to a 20 percent decline in cancer death rates in the U.S. since 1991, and a 50 percent drop in smoking rates. Thanks to our progress, nearly 14 million Americans who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will celebrate more birthdays this year. We're determined to make this cancer's last century and finish the fight. We're finding cures as the nation's largest private, not-for-profit investor in cancer research, ensuring people facing cancer have the help they need and continuing the fight for access to quality health care, lifesaving screenings, clean air, and more. For more information, to get help, or to join the fight, call us anytime, day or night, at 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
