Following a successful 12-show, limited-engagement residency, The Smith Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce that Frankie Moreno will return for another 10 shows beginning next month. Starting tonight, July 14, and running through Sept. 29, dark July 28 and Aug. 4, Moreno will perform Tuesday evenings in Cabaret Jazz at 8 p.m.
Moreno was first introduced to American audiences at the age of ten with his debut on CBS's "Star Search." Since then he hasn't stopped. Named Best Strip Headliner by the Las Vegas Weekly and Best All Around Performer by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Moreno has been wowing audiences from coast-to- coast with his mix of rat pack glamour, original and classic hits and vintage funk-infused sounds. A piano prodigy and multi-instrumentalist, Moreno has performed with many greats, including award-winning classical violinist Joshua Bell, and graced such prestigious stages as the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.
Moreno has played a nation-wide tour with Grammy-nominated artist Billy Currington and country superstars Sugarland. In 2009, multi-platinum artists Air Supply recruited Moreno to join them as their musical director for their world tour. He wrote their latest radio single "Dance with Me," which reached the Top 40 on the Billboard Charts. Moreno has twice collaborated with Bell with both records reaching the top ten on the Billboard Charts.
In 2013, Moreno performed his hit "Tangerine Honey" on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." This led to many other TV shows, magazine profiles and sold-out concerts including a performance that was filmed for his national PBS special, "Frankie Moreno in Concert."
Moreno, who is managed by Roc Nation, is collaborating on new music with producer, engineer and guitar legend Pat Thrall (Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber).
