Faith Conservatory of the Fine Arts will bring the magic of "PIPPIN" to life for six special performances, May 8-17. Tickets to the Tony Award-winning musical, from renowned lyricist and composer Stephen Schwartz, are available now at www.FaithTheatreCompany.com.
"'PIPPIN' is a brilliant opportunity to blur the world of reality and imagination," said Erik Ball, Head of Theatrical Arts at Faith Lutheran High School. "It's a poetic adventure with thrilling dances, mesmerizing vocals and a finale that will leave audiences stunned! It's pure magic."
"PIPPIN" follows the title character, a young prince and heir to the throne, who is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He is tempted, tricked, and encouraged to seek out a life that is extraordinary. This time, the thrilling story of "PIPPIN" is offered as a metaphor, as the stage is turned into a full-size doll house, and players are transformed into dusty playthings of the past. (Each one with a purpose and curiosity.) The Leading Player manipulates playtime and we watch as action-figure and doll alike perform this mysterious and thrilling story.
The 1972 musical by Stephen Schwartz, the Grammy and Academy Award-winning theatre giant behind "Wicked," "Godspell," and "Children of Eden," has been successfully produced all over the world and in 2013 won the Tony Award for "Best Revival of a Musical."
Performances of "PIPPIN" can be seen at 7 p.m. all nights May 8, 9, 15, 16 & 17, with a single 4 p.m. matinee performance on Sunday, May 10. Tickets start at $10 and can be purchased online at www.FaithTheatreCompany.com or www.showtix4u.com. Media and promotional opportunities are supported and sponsored by Rudy Foundation.
