ECLIPSED Debuts In Las Vegas At The Smith Center For The Performing Arts

"ECLIPSED," the colorful and fiery drama written by Danai Gurira (of The Walking Dead) & presented by Broadway in the H.O.O.D, settles in at the Troesh Theatre at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts for four intimate, powerful and captivating performances taking place November 2-4, 2018.

Danai Gurira's gripping drama documents the story of five extraordinary women brought together by upheaval in their homeland of Liberia in 2003 and near the end of the Second Liberian Civil War. As they navigate the dangers of captivity and imagine what the future could hold, the arrival of a new girl threatens to upend their delicately balanced community.

Tony-nominated ECLIPSED tells the story of survival, hope, humor and resilience. It offers a chilling, humanizing and surprisingly funny portrait of transformation and renewal. With wit, compassion, and defiance, this gripping play unearths the wreckage of war and celebrates the women who navigate finding and testing their own strength.

Broadway in the H.O.O.D is a 2018 Tony Award Nominee and 2015 Emmy-nominated, national 501c3 nonprofit theatre and community-based organization located in Las Vegas, Nevada. B.I.T.H provides high-quality educational training in acting, singing, dancing, technical theatre as well as stage and production management. Our productions and events are built, cast and run by youth ranging from 7 to 20 years old, some of who faced homelessness and resided in shelters for battered women and youth.
