Comedian, filmmaker and author Don Barnhart will be teaching his 25th standup comedy workshop in Las Vegas. Barnhart is the founder of the Las Vegas Comedy Institute dedicated to helping those interested in pursuing a career in comedy a place to gather, study and pursue their dream.

"Can you teach someone to be funny?" is the biggest question Barnhart hears. "You can certainly learn the art, craft and business and with some talent, perseverance and luck make a career in the comedy industry. Actors, athletes and others continue to work on their craft getting trainers and coaches and I believe comics can fine-tune their craft to make them the best at what they do. The most important aspect is to study from someone that knows what their doing."

Barnhart is definitely an expert as he stars in his own show nightly at Jokesters Comedy Club in Las Vegas when he's not on tour. He is one of the producers and director of Jokesters TV, the new standup comedy series and continues to take time off from his shows to entertain the troops around the world.

The book includes a no holds barred assessment about what clubs, venues and agents are really looking for as well as many of the things you need to do and avoid if you're looking into making comedy a career.

"I wrote Finding Your Funny began as an outline for my comedy class as I truly want to share the information I wish I had when I first started out", said Barnhart in a recent phone interview where was performing overseas for the troops.

With over 30 yeas of experience as a professional comedian, comedy coach and booker, Don Barnhart's book offers great for the open mic comic, professional comedian and comedy fan. It includes personal tragedies, anecdotes and stories one can only get from living a life on the road.

Some of the topics covered in Barnhart's classes are: Can You Teach Funny?, The 'High' Cost of Fame, Getting Booked, Hurdles and Pitfalls, The Truth About Managers, Agents and Other Oddities, The Joke Police and When To Throw In The Towel.

Barnhart added, "I tried to answer all the questions I wish I had when I was first starting out. I wanted to give a variety of opinions as there is no one, hard set rule but there are some guidelines to success."

Don Barnhart has been entertaining the troops around the world since 1992 and founded Battle Comics as a way to get more comedy to those serving overseas.
