Murphy is best known for his time as a cast member and writer on the celebrated Comedy Central series "Chappelle's Show," with his most notable sketch being "Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories." He's also appeared on numerous television talk, variety and news shows, including "Lopez Tonight," "Wild 'n Out," "The Joy Behar Show," "Hawaii Five-0" and Fox Business's "National Primetime Show."
A successful actor, screenwriter and comedian, Murphy's first big role in a major motion picture came in 1993's "CB4," where he portrayed the antagonist, Gusto. Murphy has also been seen on the big screen in "The Guys Who Move Furniture," "Lottery Ticket," "Our Family Wedding," "A Perfect Holiday," "Kings Ransom," "Roll Bounce" and "Night At The Museum." He lent his voice to a character in his younger brother Eddie Murphy's 2007 release, "Norbit."
In February 2010, the stand-up special "Charlie Murphy: I Will Not Apologize" premiered on Comedy Central, followed in 2012 by his second live stand-up DVD, "Charlie Murphy's Acid Trip."
Murphy is currently the voice of Belly Bomb on the animated TV series, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
