Suncoast Hotel and Casino is proud to welcome entertainment icon and veteran of film, television and stage Cloris Leachman at the Suncoast Showroom performing Cloris Leachman: A One-Woman Show, September 18 and 19, each evening at 7:30 p.m.

In Cloris Leachman: A One-Woman Show, the famed entertainer draws from the magical moments of her dynamic professional and personal careers through stories, song and video clips of some of her most noted film and television roles.

Possibly best known for playing landlady Phyllis Lindstrom on the ‘70s television series The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its eventual spin-off Phyllis, Cloris Leachman played her first role on film at age seven. Seventy-seven years later, Ms. Leachman remains a much sought after talent due to her vast body of work in the entertainment industry.

Just in 2009, Leachman completed work in eight films including, American Cowslip; You Again; Ponyo; Inglorious Basterds; New York, I Love You; The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure; The Fields and Expecting Mary. Among her many film roles, she has appeared in three Mel Brooks films, including Young Frankenstein and High Anxiety. She received an Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actress for her role of Ruth Popper in the 1971 film The Last Picture Show.

Beyond Mary Tyler Moore and Phyllis, Leachman has appeared on a number of television series in starring and guest roles. In recent years, she became popular for her recurring role as Lois' ruthless mother Ida on the television comedy Malcom in the Middle. Other recent television appearances include the Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget, the Hallmark Movie Love Takes Wings, NBC's The Office, TNT's HawthoRNe and a voice role in The Disney Channel's Phineas and Ferb. In 2008, she was a contestant on the seventh season of ABC's Dancing With The Stars-the oldest contestant ever to appear on the series. Leachman has received nine Emmy Awards®, eight prime time and one daytime-the most ever won by an actor. This fall she returns to television appearing in the Fox series Raising Hope as wacky grandmother Maw Maw.

On stage, Leachman starred opposite Katherine Hepburn on Broadway in William Shakespeare's As You Like It and was lauded for her role as Nellie Forbush in South Pacific. In 2009, Cloris released her bestselling autobiography "Cloris: My Autobiography," which was released in paperback March 2010.
