Blue Man Group and the Clark County School District (CCSD) will surprise the winner of its 2008-2009 "Create a Found Instrument Contest" by visiting the student's school and presenting the winner and his or her class with a special reward. The winner will be awarded a prize package including $1,000 to further his/her education. The sponsoring teacher's school department will also receive $5,000 to create additional learning opportunities for students.

The "Create a Found Instrument" contest challenges students to use their imagination in developing a new musical instrument made from non-conformed materials, similar to the instruments the Blue Man creators developed from PVC pipes for their show.

Blue Man Group worked in conjunction with CCSD to incorporate curriculum with its math, science and performing arts departments in order to support the academic standards of the school system and inspire creativity in the classroom. This is the second year for the "Create a Found Instrument Contest."
