It's billed as "The Perfect Girls' Night Outback." And, indeed, it is. Thunder From Down Under is a very happy place to be.
Their publicity says they try to appeal to every taste so, for example, there's a firefighter number.
Their showroom at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino is intimate, with the audience seated at long tables that are often used by the guys as a place to prance, dance and show off. They do bring audience members up onto the stage. No one seemed at all hesitant. Their joy at being up there was obviious.
The cast sets the tone for the show. It is, therefore, raucous and filled with lots of laughs. The guys clearly enjoy what they're doing and the audience does, too.
There are always bachelorette parties, divorce parties, birthdays and other special occasions and the troupe tries to pay attemtion to them. Lots of brides-to-be wearing veils seem to be there for their last fling.
If you don't have an ear for accents, it may be a bit difficult to understand them when they talk. But, no matter. Their actions speak louder than any words possibly could. They're acrobatic, athletic and talented. They don't go, as they call it, the "full Monty," but they get as close as they can and still have something on.
Thunder's big competition for Las Vegas audiences is with the Chippendales at the Rio Hotel and Casino. But, thanks to the intimacy of the room, the more casual ambiance, Thunder is the show of the two to see
