Actress and Comedian Wanda Sykes Debuts at The Mirage Hotel 3/11 & 3/12

Actress and comedian Wanda Sykes will debut her award-winning routine at The Mirage Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12. Sykes, one of the "25 Funniest People in America," according to Entertainment Weekly, will take the stage at 10 p.m. both nights inside the Terry Fator Theatre.

Sykes made her comedic debut at a talent showcase in Washington, D.C. where she performed in front of a live audience. She spent five years performing and writing for HBO's critically acclaimed "Chris Rock Show." She was nominated for three Primetime Emmy® Awards as a performer and writer on the show and in 1999 won the Emmy® for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Special.

Sykes' first stand-up special aired on Comedy Central and was called "Wanda Sykes: Tongue Untied." "Wanda Sykes: SICK & TIRED," her second special, aired on HBO and was nominated for a 2007 Primetime Emmy® for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Special. Her third special, "I'ma Be Me," also aired on HBO and was nominated for two Primetime Emmys -- Outstanding Variety Music or Comedy Special and Outstanding Writing Variety, Music or Comedy Special.

Sykes has appeared in several feature films including "Evan Almighty," the sequel to "Bruce Almighty," alongside funnyman Steve Carrell. Her other works include roles in "My Super Ex-Girlfriend," "Monster-In-Law," "Nutty Professor 2: The Klumps," "Over the Hedge" and "The Barnyard." Television acting credits include the CBS comedy "The New Adventures of Old Christine," Fox's "Wanda Sykes Show," HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and Comedy Central's "Crank Yankers" as the voice of Gladys Murphy.
