Comedian, actor and producer Steven Wright will bring his deadpan delivery and trademark satire to The Orleans Showroom on Nov. 25-26.

Wright got his start as a performer at Ding Ho's Comedy Club and Chinese Restaurant in Cambridge, Mass. Having been seen at the venue by the producer of "The Tonight Show," Wright was invited to appear on the show alongside host Johnny Carson for his first televised appearancE. Wright was invited to return the following week for a rare back-to-back performance. His unique style of comedy and lackluster voice caught the world's attention, and he later appeared on "Saturday Night Live" and "Late Night with David Letterman." He would go on to star in two HBO specials - "A Steven Wright Special" and "Wicker Chairs and Gravity."

In 1985, Wright received a Grammy Award nomination for his debut comedy album, "I Have a Pony." Twenty-two years later, he received a second Grammy Award nomination for its sequel, "I Still Have a Pony." Following his second nomination, Wright became the first inductee into the Boston Comedy Hall of Fame.

In 1989, Wright won an Academy Award for Best Short Live-Action Film for the satirical production "The Appointments of Dennis Jennings," which he starred in and co-wrotE. Wright has also starred in several films, including "So I Married an Axe Murderer," "Desperately Seeking Susan" and "Half Baked."

Comedy Central ranked Wright #23 on their list of the world's 100 greatest stand-up comics. In addition to two guest appearances on Louis C.K.'s hit TV series "Louie," Wright was nominated for an Emmy Award for his work as a producer on the show. Wright also played the character "Leon" in the first season of Louis C.K.'s web series "Horace and Pete."
