Larry Paulsen

Augie Davidson
Larry Paulsen has a long history with Seattle-area theaters, including multiple appearances at Seattle Rep, Seattle Shakespeare, Intiman, Seattle Children’s and with ACT; most recently as Pendleton in the ACT/Fifth Avenue co-production of CHOIR BOY; and as Fret in Thalia’s EUROPE. He has also been a familiar face at many regional theaters nationwide, including the Denver Center, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Shakespeare Theatre (DC), Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, the Huntington, South Coast Rep, Santa Cruz Shakespeare, Kansas City Rep, Gulfshore Playhouse, McCarter, Arizona Theatre Co, and Milwaukee Rep.


Jeanne Paulsen

Anna Davidson
Jeanne Paulsen has done many, many roles in Seattle: at Intiman, The Empty Space, ACT, Seattle Shakespeare and most recently in The Children at Seattle Repertory Theatre. She appeared in Thalia’s production of SORRY, playing Barbara. Jeanne is a Tony Award Nominee for her performance in THE KENTUCKY CYCLE, which had its premiere at Intiman. She has performed at theaters nationwide, including the Studio Theatre (DC), McCarter, Denver Center, Utah and Oregon Shakespeare festivals, Milwaukee Repertory, Mark Taper Forum, Lincoln Center, ACT in San Francisco, South Coast Repertory (LA Drama Critics Award for Outstanding Performance in HOLY DAYS), La Jolla Playhouse, Long Wharf Theatre, and Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.


Creative Team

Terry Edward Moore

Director
Terry Edward Moore most recently directed EUROPE, and has played in A DAY IN THE DEATH OF JOE EGG, A LESSON FROM ALOES, SORRY, WHEN LOVE SPEAKS, THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF NOW, and SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS, all for the love of Thalia. He has acted and/or directed for most of the professional theaters in the Pacific Northwest, including ACT, Seattle Rep, 5th Avenue, Village, Taproot, Harlequin, and Intiman, and from coast to coast. Terry was one of the seven founders of Seattle Shakespeare (he was Doc) and served as co-artistic director there for six years.


Roberta Russell

Scenic and Lighting Designs
Roberta designs lighting and scenery, and is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829. Her work for Thalia’s Umbrella includes two productions of EUROPE, SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS, THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF NOW, WHEN LOVE SPEAKS, SORRY, and A LESSON FROM ALOES. Roberta is also a painter/collagist, currently working with portraiture and forms from nature.


Jae Hee Kim

Costume Design
Jae Hee Kim recently designed costumes for MACBETH at Seattle Shakespeare, AN ENDLESS SHIFT at ArtsWest, and she teaches at SPU. She was a draper at Seattle Rep and a lead draper at Seattle Opera. She has taught at universities in Korea and the US, and she has published articles at USITT and the Korean Society of Costume. Her costumes have been exhibited at internationally recognized galleries. She received a Wearable Art grant from the University of Iowa Museum of Art, the KCACTF Meritorious Achievement Award, and the Kennedy Center’s Summer Intensive in Design Collaboration fellowship with workshops led by Ming Cho Lee and Constance Hoffman. Johanna Melamed

Sound Design
Most recently Johanna designed sound for two Seattle Shakespeare school tour shows: JULIUS CAESAR and ROMEO AND JULIET. Also this season she designed the sound for THE MURDER OF ROGER ACKROYD for Book-It. Last season Johanna designed sound for PATRIMONY by Duane Kelly and HOTTER THAN EGYPT for ACT and Marin Theatre Co.


Richart Schug

Properties Design and Technical Direction
Richart Schug has previously worked with Bainbridge Performing Arts, and he was resident scenic designer at Newstage Theatre in Jackson, Mississippi.
