Dido and Aeneas / The Fairy Queen at Lawrence Opera Theatre

Henry Purcell’s "The Fairy Queen" is usually dubbed the first Shakespearean opera. Selections are interpolated into Purcell’s only real opera, "Dido and Aeneas," which displays distinctly Shakespearean influences.
