The Spring Performances present classics by Balanchine and Bolender, plus two exciting new choreographer’s Kansas City premieres. Edwaard Liang’s Wunderland is a haunting, visually striking contemporary ballet. The ensembles and duets are beautiful, filled with emotion and mystery. Emerging choreographer Amy Seiwert is gaining national renown for her surprising, remarkable work that expands the definition of ballet. Through masterful and courageous ideas and images, she creates thrilling honesty and emotion. George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments is pure energy. Created in 1946, the ballet’s novel footwork and spectacular solos remain as fresh and exciting for audiences as ever. Plus, audience goers will enjoy The Still Point , which is one of Todd Bolender’s most revered ballets.
