Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
July 17 - 18
The show starts with the Narrators telling the story of a "dreamer" to a group of school children. God has a dream for each of our lives, and Joseph triumphs over his circumstances with faith and integrity. The favored son of Jacob Joseph is tricked by his brothers and is sold into slavery in Egypt. He serves in the house of Potiphar and is falsely accused by his wife. After several years in prison, Joseph is promoted to be second in command to Pharaoh, saving the country from a seven-year famine and, as predicted by his dreams, saving his family as well. Its themes of jealousy and goodness are triumphantly told through music in a number of styles from calypso to rock and roll to rousing country music.
