Wigs, weaves and pop culture! Unicorn Theatre closes out the 36th season of BOLD NEW PLAYS with a funny and poignant "blowout" of African-American sisterhood and identity. Zina Camblin's And Her Hair Went With Her came out of the National New Play Network (NNPN), having received productions at Phoenix Theatre, New Jersey Repertory Company and Fountain Theatre (all NNPN theatres) and was read at the Unicorn in 2008. Jacqueline L. Gafford will direct Nedra Dixon and Teisha M. Bankston as they portray stylists Jasmine and Angie and all their eccentric clients. As they dish the dirt in the salon, we discover our hairstyles are reflections of our self image. Layered on top is the soulful music of Nina Simone. Performances are Tuesday-Thursday at 7:30 pm, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 3:00 pm.

There will be a Saturday matinee at 3:00 pm on May 1st. Talk-back performances with the actors and director will follow the performances on May 4th, 9th and 11th. Tickets can be purchased online at www.unicorntheatre.org, by phone at 816-531-PLAY or at the box office.
