The Barn Players brings "Thoroughly Modern Millie" a high-spirited, zany musical romp, set in New York City in the height of the Roaring Twenties, to its stage in a fantastic production filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men, outstanding music, bright dance numbers, romance and even a dragon-lady villainess. The play is a perfect blend of madcap music, dancing and entertainment for the entire family.

It's 1922 in New York City, an era when the rules of love and social behavior were changing and Millie Dillmount, from Salina, Kansas, arrives in the big city in search of a new life and a rich husband ... but, the man she falls in love with doesn't have a dime, so he tells her. Without a doubt audiences will be leaving the theatre humming the songs and maybe even dancing the Charleston.

"THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE" opens Friday evening, September 18th and will play through Sunday matinee October 4th and is based on the Academy Award winning film. The play at The Barn Players is directed by Kipp Simmons with musical direction by Kevin Bogan and features Cara Hampton as Millie, Blane Brungardt as Jimmy and Katie Barlow, Matt Richardson, Trevor French, Jeannette Bonjour and Julie Ewing. The chorus includes Cassaundra Sutherland, Charlotte Gilman, Jill Smith, Jessica Alcorn, Ramsey Self, Rebecca Johnston, Bridget Angles, Emmy Hadley, Eli Biesemeyer, Caelin Golladay, Max Mammele, Gregory Dean, Graham Fairleigh, Elaina Smith, Dana Arnott, Sara Crow, Paul Harweith, Tracy Fox, Joy Richardson and Sarah Morrissey. It is one of the largest casts ever on the Barn Players stage.
