The Barn will hold auditions for its upcoming production of THE BOYS NEXT DOOR by Tom Griffin on March 22nd and 23rd. The production is directed by Nancy Eppert.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. It is suggested to have a one-minute prepared monologue, but not required. It is highly suggested that those auditioning have read the script.
Those wishing to audition should bring conflicts from the date of your audition through June 20; absolutely NO conflicts during the two weeks prior to the opening of the show, June 4. Rehearsals begin April 19 at St. Pius and will run Mondays - Fridays. Please bring a current resume; a headshot is optional and will not be returned. Invited Callbacks will be held on Saturday, March 27th at a to-be-announced time.The production will run June 4th through June 20th on Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2:00pm.
The story takes place in a communal residence for four mentally challenged men; supervised by their social worker Jack, who is facing burn-out. Norman, works in a doughnut shop and exhibits **OCPD tendencies-as does his girlfriend Sheila, Lucien has the mind of a five-year-old, Arnold is paranoid/hyperactive and OCPD and Barry, a schizophrenic, images himself to be a golf pro.
