'The 13th Annual Crown Center Pumpkin Patch' Held At Crown Center Square 10/10

Crown Center Square will be filled with 30,000 pounds of pumpkins for the 13th annual Crown Center Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, October 10 , with a rainout day scheduled for Sunday, October 11. This great day of family fun, sponsored by Crown Center and presented by KPMG LLP accounting and tax firm, lasts from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds benefit Children's TLC (CTCL)!

There is no admission fee to the event, which includes more than five hours of entertainment from local favorites such as Funky Mama, Champions Martial Arts Center, Miller Marley Entertainers, and the Kansas City Wizards Mascot, Dynamo. The first 250 Children wearing costumes may participate in the Costume Competition taking place at 12:30 p.m. Additional attractions include: inflatable moonwalks and slides, carnival games, a petting zoo, pony rides, a Safety & Health fair and Boo Bazaar shopping! Tickets for games, concessions, rides and pumpkins will be sold for 50 cents each, and the entertainment is complimentary. Pumpkins will cost six tickets ($3.00).

The Children's TLC Friends Association Pumpkin Patch Committee has been working for months to make this an event the whole family will enjoy! Many corporate sponsors help to make the event possible, including KPMG LLP, Crown Center and Kansas City Life Insurance.

Established in 1947, Children's TLC offers early education to children with special needs and typically developing students. Multiple therapy programs are available including occupational, physical, and speech & language therapy programs. Children's TLC is meeting the needs of children in a 7 county with Autism Spectrum, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, genetic disorders, and who are deaf and hard of hearing. Community volunteers will unload 30,000 pounds of pumpkins at 4 p.m.

Patron Party at Crown Center Square Saturday, October 10 (Rainout Day: Sunday, October 11)

No admission fee. Tickets for activities, concessions and pumpkins are 50 cents each. Activities will include:

· Complimentary Stage Entertainment from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Funky Mama, Champions Martial Arts Center, Miller Marley Entertainers, and the Kansas City Wizards Mascot Dynamo are scheduled to perform, courtesy of Kansas City Life Insurance Company.

· Children's costume competition at 12:30 p.m.

· Shop at the Boo-Bazaar for unique children's items.

· Pick from a huge supply of pumpkins. Each pumpkin costs just six tickets ($3.00).

· Take a pony ride.

· Jump or bounce on inflatable rides.

· Win prizes at a variety of child-friendly carnival booths.

· Put your special touch on a trick-or-treat bag or pumpkin at the Decorating Center.

· Enjoy the Spooktacular Children's Health & Safety Exhibits.
