The annual Greater Leavenworth Area Student Art Show sponsored by the Carnegie Arts Center is happening in the Stacks Gallery of the Carnegie Art Center at 601 S. 5th St. Leavenworth, KS, March 13-April 4, 2009. Opening reception for the Artists and their art teachers will be held Friday March 13th from 5:00-7:00PM. The Center provides a professional setting in which area students display their works for an audience of varied interests. Exposure to critiques and comments allows the students to express their creative thoughts in a verbal manner.
Area schools include Leavenworth High School, Ft. Leavenworth, Lansing Intermediate and High School, Lansing Middle school, Bradley Elementary, Pleasant Ridge Elementary and Salt Creek Valley, Howard Wilson and Muncie, Davie Brewer and Nettie Hartnett Elementary, Anthony and Lawson Elementary, MacArthur Elementary and Patton Jr. High, and Immaculata High School. Come support the area schools and their talented students while enjoying a display of fine art. Plan a First Friday event and attend the opening reception March 13th.
This event is open to the public, with free admission.
