Spinning Tree Theatre proudly produces the Kansas City premiere of Harvey Fierstein's CASA VALENTINA October 27 - November 12. Four-time Tony Award winner Fierstein (Kinky Boots, Newsies, La Cage aux Folles, Torch Song Trilogy) based his 2014 play on actual events.

The Catskills, 1962. Nestled in the land of dirty dancing and borscht belt comedy sits an inconspicuous inn that caters to a very special clientele: heterosexual men whose favorite pastime is dressing and acting as women. It's paradise for these men - white collar professionals with families - to spend their weekends discreetly and safely inhabiting their chosen female alter egos. But when they get the opportunity to share their secret lives with the world, these "self-made women" must decide whether the freedom they would gain by emerging from hiding is worth the risk of personal ruin.

Directed by Michael Grayman-Parkhurst and Nicole Marie Green, CASA VALENTINA features John Rensenhouse (Broadway National Tours: The Lion King, Noises Off) as George/Valentina; Jan Rogge (Old Globe Theatre, Utah Shakespeare Festival) as Rita; and Victor Raider-Wexler (Broadway: Gypsy, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Best Friend; television: "Seinfeld," "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "The Queen of Kings"; currently recording the series "Boss Baby" for Dreamworks) as The Judge/Amy. The cast also includes Joe Wyatt as Albert/Bessie, De De DeVille as Charlotte, Andy Perkins as Michael/Gloria, Zach Sudbury as Jonathon/Miranda, Kevin Fewell as Theodore/Terry and Claudia Copping as Eleanor.

CASA VALENTINA previews Friday, October 27 at 7:30pm and Saturday, October 28 at 2:00pm. Opening Night, with reception to follow, is Saturday, October 28 at 7:30pm. The cast and artistic team will hold a talkback following the performance on Thursday, November 2. Performances are Wednesday-Saturday at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:00pm through November 12.

Spinning Tree Theatre's Season 7 continues with the Kansas City premiere of FULL GALLOP starring Cheryl Weaver as ousted Vogue Editor Diana Vreeland January 26 - February 11, 2018, and Broadway gem ONCE ON THIS ISLAND directed by Nedra Dixon April 20 - May 6, 2018.
