Spinning Tree Theatre proudly announces the inaugural Spinning Tree Theatre Guild Scholarship, sponsored by the Guild and administered by the Artistic Committee. In keeping with the mission of educational development in the live theatre arts, Spinning Tree has created this scholarship fund to assist area high school seniors in pursuing higher education. The inaugural 2017 award is a one-time $1,000 scholarship.
To be considered, an applicant must be a current high school senior residing in Missouri or Kansas, planning to attend college in fall of 2017 with the goal of pursuing a degree and career in acting or musical theatre.
Scholarship requirements and application are available at www.spinningtreetheatre.com. Applicants have until April 15, 2017 to submit materials.
Spinning Tree's newly-formed Artistic Committee consists of an array of Kansas City's leading theatre artists and educators: actor/teacher Robert Gibby Brand, actor/director/teacher Nedra Dixon, actor Charles Fugate, actor/teacher Nicole Marie Green, playwright/teacher Cynthia Hardeman and actor/director/teacher Julie Shaw.
Spinning Tree Theatre concludes season six with the Kansas City professional premiere of Stephen Sondheim's landmark musical ASSASSINS, playing May 24 - June 11, 2017.
