Right Between the Ears Set for KC Fringe Fest, Begin. 7/19

Right Between the Ears takes its irreverent brew of radio spoofery to the KC Fringe Festival, with performances at the Unicorn Theatre, 3828 Main Street, in Kansas City beginning Friday, July 19.

Shows are scheduled for Friday, July 19 at 9:30pm; Saturday, July 20 at 6:00pm; Thursday, July 25 at 7:30pm and Saturday, July 27 at 6:00pm. Tickets are $10.00 with a Fringe button. Fringe buttons are $5.00 and will be available at the theatre or at http://KCfringe.org. Tickets can be purchased online at the Right Between the Earswebsite, http://rightbetweentheears.com.

The Fringe Festival shows will coincide with the 100th broadcast episode of Right Between the Ears. Highlights from RBTE shows at the Fringe will be broadcast on Kansas Public Radio stations at 7:00pm Sunday, July 21.

To celebrate the 100th episode, the RBTE crew will perform favorite sketches drawn from the last 28 years of live shows, including C.S.I. Mayberry, The Old Ranger, Incompetents Hospital, The Adventures of Johnny Echo plus commercial spoofs like Tai Chi Chai Tea and Redneck Life Insurance.

The KC Fringe Festival - now in its ninth year - is jam-packed with live theater, dance, [KC Fringe Festival] performance art, visual art, spoken word, puppetry, storytelling, film and fashion. The 2013 festival, like its predecessors, is a celebration of local, regional and national artists, presenting events at venues throughout Kansas City.

Right Between the Ears is a four-time winner of the Gold Medal as Best Comedy Show at the New York Festivals, and is broadcast every week on Sirius-XM's Comedy Showcase. The show also airs Sundays at 7:00pm on the stations of Kansas Public Radio (91.5, Lawrence; 89.7, Emporia; 91.3, Junction City; 99.5 Manhattan; and 90.3 Chanute). Cast members for the June 22 performance include Rhiannon Birdsall, David Greusel, John Jessup, Mary Ellen Kriegh, Andi Meyer, Kip Niven and Rick Tamblyn. Darrell Brogdon is the show's creator and producer.
