Don't miss this absorbing new drama that the New York Times referred to as:

"Sex, drugs and chamber music..."

After firing one of their founding members due to his erratic behavior, a world-class string quartet takes a chance on a gifted but relatively inexperienced young woman. With only a few days to rehearse, the four struggle to prepare for a televised ceremony at the White House. Their rehearsal room becomes a pressure-cooker as passions rise, personalities clash, and the players are forced to confront the nature of their life's work.

Punctuated by the music of Bach, Beethoven and Bartok, the story shows the sweat, the hard work and the delicate balance of personalities necessary for a seemingly effortless performance. The play features Charles Goolsby, Randy Parker, Liza Pehrson, Ray Remp Jr., and Shawn Trimble under the direction of Doug Weaver.

Opus Cast from left Randy Parker, Ray Remp, Jr., Shawn Trimble, Charles Goolsby and Liza Pehrson.

There will be a talkback after the March 4 performance with Steven Mcdonald, Director of the Lawrence Chamber Orchestra and Peter Chunn, Associate Professor of Viola at KU.

Tickets are available at the Theatre box office 785 843-7469 or at www.theatrelawrence.com.
