The Barn Players will present the Kansas City community theatre premiere of the Broadway musical hit "Nice Work If You Can Get It," playing Friday, November 4th through Sunday, November 20th, 2016.
Come enjoy unforgettable song standards by George and Ira Gershwin, and laugh along with the absurd antics crafted by Tony Award winning author Joe DiPietro.
It's the roaring twenties and a screwball cast of characters gather to celebrate a ne'eer-do-well playboy's wedding. Soon things don't go as planned when the giddy groom meets a feisty young lady bootlegger. Add to this bubbly brew wannabe wise-guys, chorus cuties, royalty plus some political pomp, and you've got one song filled comic caper that is perfect for all audiences.
This toe tapping musical showcases such Gershwin favorites as: "Someone To Watch Over Me," "Let's Call The Whole Thing Off," "S'Wonderful," "Fascinating Rhythm," "But Not For Me," "They All Laughed," and "Nice Work If You Can Get It."
The Barn Players production team boasts an impressive group of Kansas City stage veterans: Direction by Kipp Simmons, musical direction by Kevin Bogan, with choreography duties shared by Valerie Martin and Ramsey Self. The talented cast includes: Brian Larios, Krista Eyler, Reed Uthe, Stasha Case, Corey Allen, Chip Buckner, Erica Baruth, Sarah Morrissey, and Pamela Haskin.
