Musical Theater Heritage to Present All-Female 1776, 8/12-8/29

Kansas City's Musical Theater Heritage has announced an all-female production of 1776 to be presented from August 12 to August 29.  The production will be directed by Sarah Crawford

The musical, which was created by Sherman Edwards and Peter Stone and which traditionally features a largely male cast, will feature Deb Bluford, Karen Errington, Jessalyn Kincaid, Julie Shaw, Cheryl Weaver, Katie Karel, Sarah Kleeman Gulley, Vicky DeLaughder, Cathy Wood, Emily Harris, Megan McLain, Emily Shackelford, Allison Moody, Chioma Anyanwu, Kati McCreary, Diane Bulan, Eleanor Hill, Devon Roberts, Christina Burton, Sarah Goeke, Kristen Janell Sullivan, Lena Andrews, Malena Marcase, and Nicole Rockstad. 

1776 is the story of the events leading up to the writing and signing of the Declaration of Indepedence in 1776.  The musical features such songs as 'Sit Down John,' 'Till Then,' 'He Plays The Violin,' 'Mama Look Sharp,' and 'Molasses To Rum To Slaves.'
