MTH Theater Announces Cast of THE PRODUCERS Image

The MTH Theater at Crown Center has announced casting for its August production of Mel Brooks' mega-hit musical comedy THE PRODUCERS.

The cast is led by Ryan Hruza and Eric Morris in the roles of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, respectively. Additionally, Brooke Lacy joins the production in the iconic role of Ulla. The fourteen person ensemble includes Taylor Avazpour, Martin Buchanan, Al Burnes, Aime Lederman, Rebecca Munoz, Tim Noland, Mike Ott, Erica Punch, Stefanie Stevens, Andrea Strickler, and Francisco Javier "Pancho" Villegas.

The production is directed and choreographed by Broadway veteran DJ Salisbury with Music Direction by MTH Resident Music Director Jeremy Watson. The production features a scenic design by Tijana Bjelajac, lighting design by Shane Rowse, sound design by John Hileman, and costume design by Nancy Robinson.

"We're so excited to collaborate with DJ on THE PRODUCERS. His ideas about bringing a traditionally big musical into our seven row theater are so fresh and innovative that I can't wait to see how audiences react," said MTH Executive Director Chad Gerlt.

Mel Brooks' hit 1967 film as big Broadway musical once again sets the standard for modern, outrageous, in-your-face humor. It is the most decorated musical comedy in history, winning a record twelve Tony Awards.

With a truly hysterical book co-written by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan (Annie) and music and lyrics by Mr. Brooks, The Producersskewers Broadway traditions and takes no prisoners as it proudly proclaims itself an "equal opportunity offender!"

THE PRODUCERS plays The MTH Theater at Crown Center from August 9 - 26.

Tickets start at $27 and are available by calling the MTH Box Office at 816.221.6987 or by visiting www.mthkc.com.
