MTH's new performance series SILENT MOVIE (jazz) SESSIONS returns Saturday, November 18 in the newly rennovated MTH Studio Theater. The series fuses the silent movie genre with LIVE jazz artists performing original and improvisational compositions. The quintet on November 18 will led by Joey Panella on Bass and features Brandon Wilkins on saxophone/bassoon/flute, Eddie Moore on piano, Joe Schoonover on guitar, and Brian Steever on drums/percussion.

The Silent Movie for this session will be the 1922 German Expressionist film NOSFERATU.

Directed by F. W. Murnau and starring Max Schreck as the vampire Count Orlok, Nosferatu was shot in 1921 and released in 1922. It was an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Various names and other details were changed from the novel: for instance, "vampire" became "Nosferatu" and "Count Dracula" became "Count Orlok". It is widely considered one of the great silent films of all time.

The Session is scheduled for one performance on Saturday, November 18, at 7pm. The newly rennovative Studio Theater accomodates up to 48 patrons, seated at cabaret tables. Genral admission tickets are $15. To purchase tickets or for more information visit www.mthkc.com or contact the MTH Theater Box Office at 816.221.6987.
