Lyric Opera Extends HMS PINAFORE Thru 11/15

The Lyric Opera of Kansas City has received such an overwhelming response to the upcoming performances of H.M.S. Pinafore November 6, 8, 11 & 14 that an additional matinee performance has been added on November 15th.

Added November 15 matinee honors of National Opera Week with special festivities
The November 15th performance will kick off National Opera Week November 16-20.

The Lyric Opera will celebrate by offering:
Free backstage tours prior to the performance from noon to 1:00 p.m.
An opportunity for the attendees meet and great the cast members of H.M.S. Pinafore and the Lyric Opera Lady following the production.
An encore performance of "When I was a Lad" following the production performed by the children who participated in the 2009 Lyric Opera Camp and Robert Gibby Brand who is portraying Sir Joseph Porter in H.M.S. Pinafore.
Balloons and nautical temporary tattoos to children following the performance.

Tweeters and Families receive special pricing on November 15th
$20 Tweet Seats - Tweeters who participate in the social networking site Twitter will have the opportunity to sit in a special all-Tweet section in the Lyric Theatre and will receive exclusive content tweeted throughout the performance by Lyric Opera Artistic Director Ward Holmquist. Lyric Theatre, 11th and Central, Downtown Kansas City
4 performances: Nov. 6, 8m, 11, 14 & 15m
Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m.; Wednesday curtain is at 7:30 p.m.; and Sundays are 2:00 p.m. matinees.

Mismatched love is running amok on Her Majesty's ship! Josephine loves Ralph, but he is a lowly member of the ship's crew. Josephine's dad, the ship's captain, wants her to marry the First Lord of the Admiralty instead. Amidst secret elopements and class-confused love triangles, Little Buttercup spills a family secret that could change everything!
