In this hilarious comedy, Sheridan Whiteside, theatre critic, lecturer, and radio personality, arriving to dine at the home of the prominent Stanley family in a small Midwestern town, slips on their doorstep and injures his hip. A tumultuous six weeks of confinement follow, during which Whiteside monopolizes the living room and takes over the Stanley household. Before it's over, the outrageous has become commonplace. Written by the incomparable team of George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, the same gentlemen that penned the 2009 Lyceum hit, You Can't Take It With You, this stylish and funny production will feature one of the largest Lyceum casts ever assembled, playing an extravagant array of eccentric characters.

Sheridan Whiteside will be played by Lyceum veteran Michael Rothhaar, last seen in at the Lyceum in the 2009 production of You Can't Take It With You. Rothhaar is fresh from directing My Fair Lady at the Lyceum. He has been a professional actor since 1975, with Broadway credits that include The Front Page and The Corn Is Green. His off-Broadway credits include Frankenstein and Brand.

The role of Maggie Cutler, personal assistant to Mr. Whiteside, will be played by Kathryn Merry in her Lyceum debut. Merry toured nationally in Othello and has regional theatre credits that include Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, Moon Over Buffalo and Laughter on the 23rd Floor. Her film credits include Cult of Sincerity, Plasterhead and The Creek.
