Local Art's Champions Honored With “Best Seats” At The Barn Players New Downtown Kc Arts Asylum Home ImageThe Barn Players Board of Directors is happy to announce the establishment of their "Best Seats in The Barn" honoring Barn Board President Vida Bikales. On opening night of each of the 2018 productions, one person who has contributed to the vibrancy of the Kansas City arts community (and their guest) is honored by enjoying a Barn Players production in their designated best seats. They are also introduced during the pre-show curtain speech and thanked for their contributions. As well, they enjoy a $50 gift card from The Jacobson Restaurant in The Crossroads. As an active part of the arts community, this is an opportunity to say thank you to the people who help our art's community thrive.

The 2018 local arts leaders being honored by the Barn Players are: ? Dana Knapp, a non-profit veteran currently helming ArtsKC and our Regional Arts Council. She previously has held positions with both the Mid-America Arts Alliance and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. ? Carrie Lenahan is Kansas City Repertory Theatre's Manager of Individual Giving and has previously worked with the Kauffman Fund of Greater Kansas City, and the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. In her spare time she has volunteered throughout our local theater community. ? Leigh Lynch is the Executive Director of Arts in Prison, Inc., helping Kansas inmates prove that they are much more than their transgressions. From writing to choir to textiles, Leigh shepherds the Arts in Prison offerings by providing versatile programs for diverse populations. ? Betsy Sexton has been an arts educator for over 30 years, focused on dramatics and forensics. Involved with the Barn Players since the early 1980s, Betsy has directed, stage managed, and worked a multitude of jobs at virtually every Kansas City community theatre. ? Nancy Wallerstein is a tireless volunteer who currently works with the Growing Futures Early Education Center, the Johnson County Park & Recreation Board of Commissioners, Johnson County Museum, Shawnee Indian Mission Foundation, and the Barn Players among others.

The Barn Players at The Arts Asylum are located at 1000 East 9th Street, Kansas City, MO 64106. Further Barn Players information may be found at: thebarnplayers.org, or via phone at 913.432.9100.
